Fried Liver Recipe

Liver Qovurma

This fried liver recipe may not be a staple in many households, because not everyone enjoys eating liver. However, if you want to give liver a try, this recipe would be a good one to start with. My family loves liver, so we make this dish about once a month or so.

Health Benefits of Vitamin A

By Khurshid Zaynutdinov Leave a Comment

Vitamins are organic compounds that the body needs in small quantities for maintaining normal functions such as metabolism and immunity. Like all micronutrients, they must come from the foods you eat as they cannot be produced by the body or are produced in insufficient quantities.

Best Meatballs Recipe

By Lola Elise Leave a Comment

I’ve tried and cooked so many meatballs by now, I lost count! By far my favorite meatball recipe is my sister-in-law Julie’s. They come out deliciously tender, but keep their shape quite well for you to be able to bite in to them. Along with the homemade marinara sauce which they cook in, this is piece of heaven, I tell ya! In Russian we call them simply – Tefteli (“Тефтели”).

Cherry Kompot Recipe

By Lola Elise 4 Comments

Kompot is a refreshing and satisfying thirst quencher, which will not make you feel guilty for indulging in a little sweetness. It is a close relative of fruit punch. Precisely you can look at Kompot as an alcohol free, low sugar counterpart of the punch. For me kompot comes very handy when I have abundance of leftover fruits, which I hate to waste. I call it a Costco effect! I quickly turn them into kompot. If kompot is in the menu for the week, I know for a fact that my juice loving husband (however organic he might purchase) will reach out for kompot first, before considering other options.  It also goes really well when you have guests coming over, and you want to offer them something you will feel good about.

Easy Cheese Samosa Recipe

By Lola Elise 4 Comments

This is a super easy recipe for cheese samosa. I was craving for them for a while and decided to whip them up very quickly. I usually serve them with a jam for breakfast or make them as a compliment to soup entrees. Samosas are usually fried, but I like the baked option just as much, if not more.

Antibiotics: A Dangerous Habit?

By Khurshid Zaynutdinov 1 Comment

There are many articles on the overuse of antibiotics (a medicine which is used to treat bacterial infections and has no effect on viral infections), however, there is still a huge part of population that does not realize the full extent of this very dangerous habit which creates nothing but more health problems. Some people are so engrossed in consuming antibiotics, which they also like to in high doses, that they find themselves trapped in an endless vicious cycle. They get sick and take antibiotics, they get sick again and take more antibiotics to deal with the sickness that simply would not go away! Not only that, following this endless antibiotics saga other side effects start coming through and some of them are quite severe varying from antibiotics resistance to developing various allergies, etc.
